Herregud. När jag flyttade in här för en dryg månad sen fick jag ett tjockt häfte. På första sidan stog det "Welcome" och det var ju trevligt. Sen följer inte mindre än SJU sidor om deras knäppa "fire safety"-information. HERREGUD säger jag bara.

Utdrag ur häftet:

"PLEASE NOTE - for safety reasons the following are not permitted under any circumstances in the hostel.

• Candles whether lit or unlit (either in bedrooms or in communal areas such as kitchens).
• Fireworks
• Incense, joss sticks, oil lamps or aromatherapy oil burners.
• Laser pens
• Fondue sets or chip pans
• Fairy lights or snake lights
• Gas heaters"

"ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

Electric heaters, toasters, hair dryers and irons etc, are not suitable for the electrical circuit & overloading is a fire hazard. All extension leads/boards must also be authorised by the office, & secured safely in the room to prevent trailing leads.

• Private electrical equipment must not be used in rooms without the Warden's permission.
• Any unauthorised electrical equipment found to be in use or suspected of having been used will be confiscated. It will not be returned until your departure in view of the very great danger caused to other residents by the risk of fire."

...behöver jag nämna att jag i morse vaknade av ett inte så sällan förekommande brandalarm-test?!
